A758 - RoHS Compliancy announcement

Recently TPG (formerly Axiohm) announced that as a result of the forthcoming implementation of the EU directive for the Restriction of Hazardous Substances (RoHS) Compliancy, that the complete range of A758 Series of Hybrid Printers would not be RoHS Compliant from 1st July 2006.

This only applies to new equipment manufactured after the 1st July 2006, and has effect on equipment manufactured or supplied before this date.  As a result EPoS Logic can still supply fully Refurbished A758 Printers.

The TPG A760 and A776 will be RoHS Compliant by the required deadline, and offers a comprehensive alternative to the A758 series for the future.

Brief Explanation of the RoHS Directive

The RoHS Directive (Directive 2002/95/EC) complements the WEEE Directive and takes its scope from the WEEE Directive. The RoHS Directive restricts the use of lead, mercury, cadmium, hexavalent chromium, and two brominated flame retardants, polybrominated biphenyls (PBB) and polybrominated diphenyl ethers (PBDE), in the manufacture of new EEE to be put on the European Market from the 1st of July 2006.
